So does that mean you should drop your travel plans? This article shares some simple and essential practices for you to keep yourself protected against the virus.

How can you protect yourself against coronavirus?

Keep your hands sanitized: Washing your hands regularly keeps coronavirus along with many other infections at bay. Wash your hands with soap and water for at least about 20 seconds. It would help if you also carry an alcohol-based hand rub all the time.

Avoid contact with people with flu-like symptoms: Coronavirus is contagious. Thus, it would be best if you avoided close contact with anyone who is coughing, sneezing, or showing any flu-like signs. Also, cover your nose and mouth while sneezing or coughing.

Eat thoroughly cooked meat: Be sure to cook all meat and eggs properly. Cooking kills harmful bacteria and parasites that may be present in meat and pass various infections.

Use a mask: Use a good quality mask to cover your face and protect yourself against coronavirus and other infections. However, almost all the masks prevent the entry of this virus as it is large in size.

What are some of the most common symptoms of coronavirus?

Coronavirus is predominantly a lower respiratory virus. The patients may experience general discomfort and gastrointestinal distress. Also, the virus may easily be mistaken to be flu as the symptoms for both are very similar. Fever, running nose and cough are other common indicators of the infection. Avoid close contact with anyone showing the signs mentioned above.

How is the United States handling the coronavirus outbreak?

The States Department of the country has been asked to increase the travel advisory to Level 4 “do not travel” warning to infected parts to Italy and South Korea. Also, airports all around the United States have rerouted passengers flying in from China to screening centers.  They are booked for the further journey if their screening shows no symptom of the virus.
