Mehregan, popularly known as the Persian Festival of Autumn is a harvest festival which has been celebrated for over thousand years in the ancient city of Persepolis. Today, the festival of love, prayer, friendship, and feasting is celebrated in Tehran wherein families and friends come together and decorate a table with a colorful tablecloth. This is followed by placing traditional objects on the table including the spice Marjoram, a mirror, a frankincense burner, fruits, vegetables, flowers, and pistachios.
